The world premiere of Medusa 2025 will take place this November 7 & 8 in Warwick, NY! De Novo Dance returns to present another startlingly original, immersive performance. This time the company turns its wild, collective lens to re-examining the myth of Medusa! With generous support from the Warwick Center for the Performing Arts and Forge 28 Studios, Medusa 2025 will take place Friday, November 7 (8PM) and Saturday, November 8 (7PM) at 28 Church St. in Warwick, NY 10990. NOTE: Medusa 2025 explores mature themes and emotional complexity but in a thoughtful and non-explicit manner. While all ages are welcome, we recommend ages 7+ Medusa 2025, essentially, is a love letter to my daughters, Maya and Lea, and my wife, Irina. It began as an attempt to explore why Maya, at age three, was drawn again and again to a small Medusa exhibit at the Met in 2018. Medusa 2025 is an immersive performance installation that reimagines the Greek myth through the lens of systemic power, cycles of violence, and creative transformation. It embodies our commitment to intergenerational casting, community engagement, and collaboration with non-performers—values core to the company's mission. In these complex and divisive times, Medusa 2025 serves as our collective artistic response, exploring themes of Othering, violence, and the moral choices that define our humanity. Through the ancient story of Medusa, we invite a dialogue about transformation, resilience, and the possibility of healing.
