shut.eye
a performance symposium on sleep, dreams, and consciousness

De Novo Dance’s shut.eye created an immersive dreamscape through movement, music, and interactive technologies.  Accompanied by live and electroacoustic music, the performance featured De Novo’s extended collective of dancers and musicians as well as sleep experts from NYU.  Seniors from HANAC shared favorite sleep remedies, musical robots let the audience manipulate sonic environment, and we followed the bickering brothers, Hypnos and Thanatos through a complete sleep cycle.
